How would a miracle have to be performed for you to believe it by your standard?
What DP said. Also please drop the condescending qualifiers; whatever "my" standard for reality will allow also shows up in "your" standard. In fact, there shouldn't really be individually tailored standards for accepting evidence, merely a sliding scale with basic evidence for mundane claims at the lower extreme, becoming increasingly more extraordinary as you go up the scale. As a sceptic I set the absolute minimum requirement somewhere above "things written about in a morally, historically and scientifically questionable and often demonstrably silly mythology". How about you?
Tangent: I always find it amusing whenever this tactic is employed. Here's how it looks from my point of view -
You: I have a magic coin from Atlantis that grants wishes.
Me: Really? Can you demonstrate it?
You: What kind of demonstration would be acceptable to you?
Me: Oh I don't know, how about showing me the coin with the word 'Atlantis' on it, then using it to grant a wish? Since that's what we're talking about?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
