A couple of things. First off, welcome.
Glad you didn't get sucked into religion. But in what context do you "hate" religion. I do too but I clarify it as to not scare believers.
I hate it as a concept. I see it as nothing more than an artificial label and social club in the form of anthropomorphic place card for our natural evolutionary trait of safety in numbers.
But I cannot, as a minority atheist discard the concept of human rights. Humans are always going to have irrational beliefs, because the goal of evolution isn't about facts, only getting to the point of reproduction. So in that sense I don't "hate" religion. I can like a person, without liking everything they do or say.
Third, what do you have against "capitalism"? In context the literal root means "to take advantage of". There is not one government on the face of the planet that does not try to gain resources, being affective at it is a different story. China has capitalism, it sells tons of cheap crap to the rest of the world and has western businesses operating out of it. Gadaffi was a billionaire who owned stock in GE.
What I hate is not "capitalism" but monopolies and abuse of power because someone has money to abuse others with. China does that too, so abuse, not wealth is the problem for me.
I DO value an open market and private business ownership. But there are far too many corporate bullies and not enough worker rights and mom and pop shops that can compete with the top and our current supreme court has screwed the pooch and opened the flood gates for a plutocracy ruled by the rich.
I do value an open market with a mixed economy where both the private sector and government give you options and prevent both government AND private sector from gaining a monopoly over the other.
I do agree, at least with America, at this moment in time, there is abuse, but that has not always been the case. We did have as mom and pop shop owners, and workers and poor, had more power when we had more unions and higher taxes that, after WW2 built the middle class, and the uber republicans and uber uber Libertarians are to fucking stupid to see that back then there was less of a need for government because the top cared much more back then than they do now.
But I see nothing wrong with wealth within reason. When people are not suffering you could keep more of what you have, but when people are suffering, the moral thing to do when you have more, is to think about others.
Our current climate is what I have a problem with, not wealth or someone's personal goals.
Other than that welcome.
