You assume that I'm the first to have such logic. But I see it from meat-eaters all the time (eg. "I wish I could be vegetarian but it's too hard and meat tastes so good!"). In fact, I'm seeing it now with the whole chikfila thing (as in "I don't like what they stand for, but I'm not gonna stop eating there"). The point is, unlike a lot of people, I'm actually trying to do what I believe is right. And @LastPoet, the asterisk in veg*n is a quick way to spell out vegan and vegetarian.
