Why ontological arguments are illogical

RE: Why ontological arguments are illogical

An argument may be perfectly logical and the inference valid but untrue,or at least unable to be claimed to be true. The ontological argument is logically valid, but the inference may not be claimed to be true.

That's not true.

An invalid argument with true premises might have a true conclusion:

1) All cats are mammals.
2) I am a human.
3) Therefore, I am a mammal.

An invalid argument with false premises might have a true conclusion:

1) All animals with eyes are mammals.
2) I have eyes.
3) Therefore, I am a mammal.
“The truth of our faith becomes a matter of ridicule among the infidels if any Catholic, not gifted with the necessary scientific learning, presents as dogma what scientific scrutiny shows to be false.”
