Same ones I've been repeating over and over again.
Are we at our limit, or are we at the limit of technology and methods that are outdated and well within our ability to replace/modify?
If overpopulation is so threatening to our environment then how did so few of us (You and me, good ole America) manage to handle so much of the devastation by itself? Is it possible that the overall population is nowhere near as pressing as the various activities of that population -even if it is only a small portion of them engaging in any given activity-?
I'm not selling anything. I'll say the same thing to you that I just said to Shell. If resource consumption was evenly spread then 10 million or 10 billion would matter, but when 10 million can consume more resources than another 10 billion have ever even seen....then it isn't the 10 billion that's the issue. The human population at large is not responsible for the great brunt of the damage we see, a small portion of us are. The damage that we do see, which is a product of our population (sprawl for example) isn't exactly some mysterious thing that we're at a loss to remedy. Some things, once done, cannot be undone, granted. But going forward......we could do a hell of alot better, wouldn't you agree?

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
