Not at all! It is a binary response much like Patcholi or Musk. One experience sets your response in stone! For example, when I found them I HAD to buy them because the smell was so appealing, for other people (Though not many) they HATE the smell and people don't change their reactions to these sorts of things. If you ever happen across someone with Truffles for less than $10 an ounce, buy an ounce and then grate one button into a grilled (Tillimook Cheddar) cheese sandwich and it WILL be the best one you ever had!* The fat from the cheese captures and distributes the flavor. I've Truffled some eggs too but it didn't work as well.
Vegemite is an acquired taste, beer is too because most people do not like their first experiences with either but many people have learned to appreciate both.
Leo,
When has a welcome thread NOT been derailed? I am lucky to live in Oregon and I found a guy selling them for $5 an ounce which I thought was high until I went online and realized the cheapest ones were $75 dollars an ounce!
