This again reminds me of the Women In Film class I took in the college (women's studies department). Once the instructor (yes, a woman) said in all earnestness that we should try giving (political) power to a woman as they couldn't do any worse. I couldn't help myself. I said that if power were the kind of thing that was given to nice people we could choose much better male candidates as well. Unfortunately, power is the kind of thing that for the most part is fought over by the worst sort of human beings and taken by any means possible. The prof actually agreed with me but I think she liked me .. though I never felt afraid she might rape me.
