If I took your most deeply held beliefs and showed you the flaws in your understanding and left you no outs, then provoking you all to wrath would be exactly what I would be doing. (My first few weeks here is a testament to that.) So long as you can see you are still better than me in some way that is important to you, you can still feel like your comming out on top. Even if you are made to leave you religious arguement. (A good example could be found in post 59 and 60.) So why fabericate a flaw when I have one built in?
The second reason was when I was spell checking and grammar checking I was spending as much time proofing what was written as I had spent writting it. Which cuts down on the amount of posts I could respond to. In the end I thought the only one being served here by my 'proofing' was my own pride. For the message I am bringing is still being understood for the most part even though many complain or rather have something to complain about..
First paragraph: that kind of shit is the reason I hate a lot of Christianity. It is a false humility, no matter what you cloak it in. Give it to me straight. Your argument stands on its own or falls - otherwise you demean the rest of us by pretending we need to feel superior in some way, and it makes YOU feel better because you're essentially talking down to us instead of demanding we act as your perceived equals. As a humanist, no offense, but fuck you and that principle. We deserve better, no matter how you were treated in the beginning. There are those of us who don't believe in outright dismissing Christians. I was going to let you off the hook for having poor spelling and grammar habits because some people simply suck at it (even though Word is pretty easy to use) and I would let you off for learning disabilities, but now my estimation of you has gone WAY down, and partially because of...
the second paragraph: we would prefer grammatically correct posts and proper spelling to ensure proper communication. It's one less excuse from us, as we won't be able to say we don't understand you, and makes you look a hell of a lot more intelligent.
What a crock.
