Jesus / Joshua = 74.
Let's work out the odds of this randomly occuring, Greek name is 5 letters, Hebrew name is 6 letters. There are 26 letters in the alphabet, thus the most likely number that a 5-letter word will produce is 5x 12.5 = 68, and the most likely number a 6-letter word will produce is 6x 12.5 = 75.
Now, both names are the same root Hebrew word, thus they both start with the same letter, so let's discount that letter entirely and just work off:
esus / oshua = 64
Now we have a 4 letter word and a 5 letter word. Remember the most likely number a 5-letter word will produce is 68, 64 is just off the mark. The most likely number a 4 letter word will produce is 50, but let's ignore this too. Since I can't actually be bothered finding out how many 5-letter words add up to 64, I'll just use estimation. I'd say the chances are about 1 in 20 or so. Hardly staggering odds.
