Quote:1) Is anal rape--penile penetration of the anus--not "rape"?
It is rape.
Quote:2) Is anal rape with an object that isn't a penis significantly different than anal rape with a penis?
Yes.
Quote:3) If the rapist is a trangendered female, or a male who is otherwise sterile/incapable of transmitting sexual fluids, is penile rape not "rape", or somehow less "rape" than if the rapist were capable of reproduction / transmission of sexual fluids?
No.

Most definitely. It is still very different from getting hit in the face. Of course, there are also cases where death is a consequence of rape. Where HIV is epidemic, it's almost a given that areas with high incidences of rape will also have high incidences of HIV, but we're digressing a bit. A sexual assault is different than an assault, just as it is different than death.
Some people do not recover from rape. For some people, it is a terrible fate more long and drawn out than death. Some people are strong enough to pick themselves up and move on. Either way, there is no doubt that sexual trauma can cause significant emotional, behavioral and developmental disorders.
Still, I agree that death and rape are not equal.
