5. He Celebrates At Elitist Formerly All-White Golf Clubs

Formerly. Are we to refuse to spend our time at places that used to discriminate against non-white people? That would probably affect all our lives for the worse.

One of the core tenets of Libertarianism is not to judge people on their beliefs. Obama hires women...does that make him one?

Rand Paul caused a great deal of controversy when he told Rachel Maddow that he believed businesses had the right to discriminate on the basis of skin color.

I believe they do as well. I wouldn't ever use such a business, but people can be discriminatory, and businesses should too. I doubt such businesses would last very long in modern society...the vast majority of people are not racists.

Because one of the core tenets of Libertarianism is not to judge people on their beliefs. Besides, if racist groups want to support a candidate, they have every right to. It doesn't mean the candidate is a racist. I'm sure if you looked at all the donations to Obama's campaign, you will see some very shady and questionable people.

"Tell me what company you keep and I'll tell you what you are" comes to mind. As does "Choose your friends carefully; you reveal your character not only by the company you keep, but also by the company you avoid." Shall I go on?

A man who associates with men who are openly racist, white-supremacist bigots...chances are he's one of them. You can't use the "he's a Libertarian, and that's why!" argument, either. Scott Walker claims to be a libertarian but he as good as kowtows to federal law on issues like marijuana legalization, and he has been rigorous in his implementation of forcing homeowners to abide by increasingly strict housing regulations.

You can judge by the company someone else keeps, and 99 times out of 100 you will be right on the money with what you initially judged based on that. And I judge Rand Paul to be a racist dirtbag, because he associates with racist dirtbags. "Birds of a feather..."

On a more serious note, part of me wants southern, conservative states to start secession simply because the rest of the nation would become more liberal as a result of not having far right wack-jobs pushing federal legislation into crazy town. However, since I live in Texas, I know my state would be the first to go and I'd need to get far away from here, fast. I can't imagine Texas being GLBT friendly if not for the fact that the pesky constitution is getting in their way. I mean, consensual homosexual sex was only decriminalized here because of a supreme court ruling in 2003.

They're not going to ever secede, you know why? They'd fall apart within months because they're all a bunch of financial budgeting wrecks.



Yeahhh. That's why we in blue states roll our eyes and start snickering while smirking patronizingly at the "secessionists" whenever they start bleating about seceding; it's like watching the emo kid in school who kept whining about how mommy and daddy didn't love him so he was gonna kill himself. And at first everyone was like "aw c'mon don't do that," but then ten times later and everyone just starts laughing and goading him to do it...and he never does it.
