The concept of the human 'soul' is incompatible with metaphysical naturalism alone—which, although the most popular atheistic world view, is by no means the only atheistic world view. The qualitative distinction "atheistic" refers merely to deities; a person's world view can include things like souls and still affirm No Gods Required (atheistic). Metaphysical naturalism is not identical to atheism.
