I agree with you. What all really needs to be said about the suffering? "Damn shame." "So sad." "Regrettable." Now I prefer to problem solve than to go on in that vein.
Is it opportunistic? We're not all in a small room with the victims present where we need to be quiet and respectful. We're just on the fucking internet talking about what is on our minds. Shit happens all over the world every day. It is not my goal to feel it all as deeply as possible. However, I'm on board for discussing how to solve problems which recur over and over again.
Perhaps we need two threads for this. One for those who feel the need to mourn and one for the rest of us.
