Atheists should not deny that they hate. I don't deny it. But as others have pointed out here, we can hate fictional beings. Do you hate Lex Luthor?
What I do hate are naked assertions that have no evidence for them.
Claimant, "Jossie and the Pussycats won the Super Bowl Last year".
Atheist, "First off, they are just a cartoon and dont exist, secondly the Giants won the Super Bowl last year".
Claimant, "YOU HATE ME"
Atheist, "No, I don't hate you, but I do hate that you keep claiming the Pussycats won the Super Bowl".
Claimant, "YOU HATE ME"
Atheist, "No, but if you were a passenger in a speeding car and the driver is about to run a red light, wouldn't you shout at them to stop?"
Claimant, "WHY WONT YOU LET ME BELIEVE THE LIGHT IS GREEN WHEN IT IS CLEARLY RED"
Atheist, "Because the light is red."
Claimant, "YOU HATE ME"
Atheist, "Well, yea, now I do, because you are to obtuse to know the difference between a person and what a person might claim".
So if you don't want us to hate you, I'd suggest you know the difference between you the person, and the claims you make. Debate us. We can like a person but not like everything they might claim. But if you insist on painting atheists as evil monsters, then yea, we can certainly give you what you want. The choice is yours.
