The last time I tried weed was in 1978.
The experience I had was similar to descriptions I've read of a mescaline experience. Some of it was terrifying, some wonderful.
I've known a LOT of pot smokers. Every daily user I've met is nuts. However, I don't know if they are nuts who smoke weed,or if the weed made them nuts.
I AM convinced marijuana is fine as an occasional recreational drug. However,I'm not convinced that regular use is as harmless as smokers like to think.
I read an article in The Lancet which claimed that heavy use of marijuana may damage chromosomes. There is also anecdotal evidence linking heavy weed use to brain aneurisms. The problem of psychological addiction seems real enough,as does the same kind of lung damage as from tobacco smoking.
Context:This is purely academic for me; I really don't care if people smoke their brains out.. I don't know for a fact if the information I have is correct. However, I'll accept my sources over the self serving statements of most weed smokers.
