Since the switch to lead free it is much harder to maintain the high liquidous temperature that is required and quite often the dwell time required delaminates the circuit board. I miss soldering but lead free is a bitch to work with!
Right before the big switch to lead free the industry was moving away from the agressive organic acid fluxes too so now we have less agressive flux, higher temperatures, and longer dwell times! No wonder the industry is puching for system-on-a-chip and fully automatic SMT processes!
Lol at TBF, you can't get high on rosin flux! Organic acid is way better anyway although it won't get you high either.
