Hang on, are we to understand that, that pastor just got that waitress fired because of what she wrote on the bill??

The fact that it identified her AND there was backlash to let the pastor know that what she did wasn't as sanctimonious as she thought. She's not ashamed of what she did, she's just ashamed she got called out about it and that people agree with the person who called her out. She would be less inclined to act out if no one agreed with the waitress, I'd wager.

Pastor is dead meat walking...oh dear... or at least she will be guaranteed shitty service from many other establishments, maybe?

Probably not from Applebee's. I can't remember - was this in the South? Plenty of places down here at least where she would be applauded. Jesus first, you know.
