Australians by international standards are not particularly racist. For example; a lot of Australians are usually blown away by the amount of racism which is present in a society like the United States. Australian does not have racism like what you see in America.
Although Australians are a strong Egalitarian people and like to side with the loser or underdog. Not to mention our humour is often making fun of yourself or others. Which can be seen by non-Australians as proving Australians for example a very racist people.
Australians also tend not be hypocritical like Americans are when it comes to things like racism. Americans I have observed are a very racist people. However they will deny they are deeply racist.
