Belief can be with or without knowledge.
Belief with knowledge is rational belief.
Belief without knowledge is faith and, by definition, irrational.
But you have made at least one good point. Evolution has been proven with voluminous evidence, time and time again from widely diparate avenues of inquiry yet many people still choose not to believe it is true.
So you are right, knowledge =/= belief.
