My points were:
1. That you believe you have a 'disease' from birth, defined by your religion, The the same religion offers you an imaginary cure.
2. You believe that you deserve to be shot for refusing to be the servant for a guy with a gun. Which is understandable, considering your religion has a god that rules the exact same way as the guy with the gun. Might makes right.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
