I'm sorry, Mystic, because you seem to genuinely want to be nice to everyone and that takes a lot of patience. Patience I don't have. When someone continuously shows they'd rather be a sanctimonious jerk than have real and meaningful discussion, I have no respect or "niceness" left for them.
Cognitive dissonance is part of being a bigot, and it's a weird thing no doubt about it.
