Oh yes, because that has worked so well in the past. Let's see how this position worked against a few prior knowledge gaps:
1. Rain -- some rain god pissing/crying/whatever
2. Lightning -- some lightning god mad/warring/whatever
3. Disease -- some demon/god mad/teaching a lesson/whatever
4. Motion of bodies -- some god carrying the body through space
5. Motion of celestial bodies - some god in a chariot taking care of biznas
6. Tides -- some ocean god dude stirring up trouble
Hmmmm, so far in every settled issue, looks like God-dudes are batting zero. But I suppose there is always hope for god-lovers in the "time before" the big bang (whatever that means) or abiogenesis. By my reckoning, that's about all that's left for a god to do.
The unemployment rate in the god economy is hitting an all time high I'm afraid. I wouldn't advise any young folk of getting into the deity business. Too risky.
And now the news for gods -- No gods were involved in an accident on the M1 today....
