I think there is an obvious other angle to counter the argument. Your 'guy' is using an ethical argument (relativism leads to nazism and we don't like that) to derive from it that moral must have divine origin. This is a basic misstake, known as the naturalistic fallacy. The fact that some explanation has more esthetic appeal can never be a causal explanation of why things are what they are.
