When we have society free of violent crime you might have a point. We can discuss it again after violent crime is gone. Until then, disarming the victims is counter intuitive.

It works for the police. That is why they have guns. The interest is in stopping crime whether the perp has a club, a knife or a gun, whether singly or in groups. Are you suggesting harsh language instead?

When parents let their kids have access to guns they are Darwin Award candidates. But when it comes to access it is the poisons under unlocked kitchen sinks that kills most kids around the house. Should not those be banned first? But as to small children killing people with guns the other murder epidemic against children is their own parents killing them.
I consider it most important to keep perspective. It one has a problem with the consequences such as dead children one should prioritize their interests to be in accordance with the causes of deaths for children. If you really care then put your efforts where there is potentially the greatest benefit.
Anything else indicates your objective is guns and the rest is just a good use of dead kids. Quite cynical if you ask me. Jaded even.
