The political circle (particularly in the US) call a "wahhabi" anyone who takes the Qur'an literally. In fact, one of the Muslims scholars that teaches me went to a US state department conference where he asked a state department official what they mean when they say the word "wahhabi", and the response from the official? "Anyone who has a literal understanding of the Qur'an". To say I am analogous to a Christian abortion clinic bomber is off the mark, that's just not true.
In my experience every Muslim I encountered were moderates. I blame the corporate news outlets for the skewed picture.
It matters, insofar that they (the ultra-conservaties) are too cowardly to live up to their own hateful rhetoric and just accost and try to convince others to impart their hate in the form of bombing abortion clinics. You seem to be a coward, good - as long as you aren't preaching hate and the bombing of abortion clinics, I don't mind what you say.
