Trying to play dragon age on the computer is a horribly difficult prospect that gets me killed on normal, whereas on console I've no little difficulty playing maximum difficulty setting, and drop party members. I cite these reasons: doorways, my character not immediately acquiring a new target, doorways, not utterly trivializing the game by playing a mage or even having one in my party (blood mages, psychotic control mages, healbots... retardedly OP broken unbalanced shit), doorways, really annoying zoom-out to see what little I can see just to move or attack, doorways, stopdps every time you reposition in attempt to orbwalk for backstabs, doorways, and did I mention doorways? Fuck doorways. And narrow corridors.
FPS is much worse, though... I go from being able to shoot fairly accurately, to being unable to perform anything complicated, and tasks that are second-nature on controller are mind-bogglingly frustrating to me.
It's all about experience. I can't play Halo Wars on consol, and C&C Red Alert is frustrating without a keyboard and mouse. Way I figure: if you have to control a whole lot of shit at once... keyboard and mouse usually better; if you have to control only one thing... controller usually better.
Reasons cited: focus, reaction speed, 'natural' triggers, presentation.
Well, there are controllers for the PC!
I use them to play on emulators!
