My guess is that If everyone were mademormon (only one mormon sect please) then they would use the missionary organisation as a body of Inquisition (did you know that Mitt Romney is a mormon inquisitor?) and witch hunt. Also to force the "mormons" to become even better and better mormons. "Be thrown into boiling oil for even thinking about a hot cup of tea." as a rule would help to dispose of unclean wishes.
As for their Zeal for both missionary work and making babies, you're right that those two things are on par. After all, they believe they've been commanded to do both. They'll miss out on many blessing otherwise. This is why it's so easy for their leadership to motivate/manipulate them.
Am I sure...what? I'm sure of what I said earlier, yes. I guess I can clarify this bit of their doctrine for you:
For Mormons, Armageddon is the next step in their God's plan. The righteous will achieve a new glory (Captain America-type bodies) and the wicked will all die and burn. No seven year-gap, but Jesus will come down right after the burnings and begin to rule the world as its Zombie King. The earth will be a better, cleaner place somehow, and though there will be other religions still, there will inexplicably be peace on earth. Why? Because Jesus is there, and the devil can't dwell in his presence. In fact, the Devil will be locked away, so he can't influence men. So Mormons are counting on the fact that they will inherently want to choose the path of Zombie Christ since the Devil can't try to stop them.
After 1000 years of Jesus government, Satan will be freed. This will be the final battle against the devil. Once the devil is cast away forever (why did God allow him to have access to people in the first place...?) then the earth will be transformed...into a GIANT CRYSTAL BALL! That's right, it will look like a giant version of Joseph Smith's magic Seer Stone that he used to "translate" the Book of Mormon. Also, everyone will be garbed in white (at this point the people will be more like Kal-El/Superman than Captain America) and they will each have their own personal Seer Stone on a chain around their necks.

Okay...that last bit of yours about Mormon Inquisition...all I can say is that I think it's speculation on your part (especially since it's the first I've heard about it, and I've heard quite a bit, as you can guess). Romney may be a member of the Mormon Church, but he doesn't work for them. His opinions can be swayed by his Church Leaders, but he won't go on a witch hunt for naysayers.
Let me just say this: There is no Mormon Conspiracy. They're just a cult.
