I am (or was*) in a theological email debate with a mormon and I went into a little rant over proselytizing and when one should or shouldn't give up their belief about something and here's verbatim what she replied to me with:
Quote:I agree with everything here except the proselyting. We’re not pushy. Someone says no, we move on. We have the right to advertise as much as any other organization or business.(My underlining)
As far as I understand it the Mormon church is run like a for-profit business venture and she, at least, seems to see her part in door-to-door proselytizing as completely harmless because "we're not pushy" like that excuses the arrogance and presumptuousness of them walking up to your door and telling you that everything you're doing in your life is wrong because you're not Mormon.
*It's been two months since I last heard from her, including a couple emails to her asking how she was doing or what she was up to these days. Still haven't gotten a response, not even an "I'm not interested in this discussion anymore" or "Leave me alone" reply.
