Guns were available in post world war one germany.
In fact armed brownshirts terrorised the streets and made it easy for hitler to gain power. The main reason for strickt guncontrols in Germany and Austria today is to prevent armed political militias from terrorising and destroying the republic, it`s representatives and principles.
