It is only a massive if if you are willing to dismiss anything Zimmerman did or said without considering relative evidence such as that supporting the position that Martin was a racist, homophobic, thieving, violent punk who very well could have been up to no good.

None of that was said on the phone by Zimmerman. And he would have said those things if he'd seen those things happening. Buuuut he didn't.

As for your description of Trayvon's character, he must have been all of those things... because he was black. Obviously.

No he said Martin was acting suspiciously. Later in the police interview he explained the suspicious activity as peering into houses.

As far as being black goes the evidence on the quality of Martin's character speaks for itself without considering race. Martin's friend reported the words he used to describe Zimmerman as "creepy cracker." She is the one who interpreted those words as a homophobic racial slur. The description is along the same lines as calling a black man a nigger faggot.

As the article stated Martin had already been suspended from school for suspicion of burglary after he was found in possession of suspected stolen goods and tools of the trade. This was after he was caught on video vandalizing school property. Evidence of his propensity towards violence can be found if Martin's own texts and Facebook posts.
