I have never not even once in my life refused to acknowlege the historic responsibilities that come with my nationality. In fact, I believe that the learning from our countries most horrible chapter in history is the most important part of our society and that it is something that is making it more democratic.
I am not the one here who lives in a place which has institutionalised and legalised the discrimination of a certain people and after it was abolished still continued to socialy discriminate those people, yet strictly deny that there was ever anything wrong with this society and there ever will be anything wrong with this society. Like A Theist and Rahul are doing.
I really think that the "responsibilities" you speak of are nothing but what the others have put on your shoulders. Just like the unfair treaty you were forced to accept in the aftermath of WWI, now you're being forced to bear the unfair blame that has been put on your shoulders for WWII.
Similarly, an unfair blame has been put on the shoulders of these people. I certainly don't think that anyone has to feel bad about things, its the way it was meant to be. If anyone ought to disagree and speak of this, it should be the ones who have been "wronged" or believe that they have been wronged. It can be amusing to pick a side for the sake of picking a side, but really, what you're doing here sounds little less than pathetic, friend, standing up for someone more than that someone standing up for themselves as though as you owe them something.
