The Association Fallacy is also called a Hasty Generalization. In the fallacy, qualities of one specific thing are inherently qualities of another, simply by an irrelevant association.
The Association Fallacy does go from particular to general.
Martin Luther King was a great man (in the particular).
Martin Luther King was a Baptist (also in the particular).
Therefore, all great men are baptists (in the general).
You see the irrelevant feature between Baptist and great man?
