The cliches and stereotyps associated with white southeners have their origin in reality and even if you never engaged in behavior associated with such stereotyps, others did. There is a reason for that southers stereotype to exist, and it is not some weirdish conspiracy by the rest of your country to make the south look bad. No, it is the south itself.
