You can believe in technological advanced aliens and they contacted the founder of the Raelian movement via their mind communication technology on board their spaceship. As long as it's purely scientific/natural and not supernatural at all you're good to go. There is the problem I think of who created the aliens who created the Earth/ourselves but this is an issue atheists don't seem be phased about in general. A regression of some kind that keeps going back without an end or a starting point, or anything.

Not a lie just a belief, a belief that fits around the belief you already have as an atheist seeing as it is an atheist religion. All you have to do is add in some aliens, and you shouldn't have any problem with their existence as even Richard Dawkins thinks they exist somewhere in space.

People in general like them so you'll have to find a way to get them into atheism while retaining everything they like about religion. As the Raelian movement as you can see has achieved. So if you want more than 2% of the worlds population to be atheists then it would have to be something like this. The hope of immorality and seeing your loved ones again and all that business will of course be maintained, the afterlife being on a paradise planet in outer space. Similar to Mormonism in a way.
