For example if you were interviewing for a customer facing role, person 1 has all the technical skills but no personality. Person 2 has most of the technical skills and an amazing personality. Person 2 would likely get the job.
It is what it is. We employ people who are likeable. Technical skills can only go so far. Furthermore technical skills are far easier to teach or learn than personality changes.
I guess if you think about a job like modelling, you are right. To be honest, what was your point again? Just venting?
