You would do right to think that there is only one God and he was not created. There may well be beings that would seem like immortal gods to us aren't like pagan deities who are to be worshiped they would all be creations of the same God just as we are.

They can explain that atheism is an assumption that pre-supposes materialism and scientific naturalism. If you're not doing this I would say you're not really an atheist.
