What makes you believe your supposition is logical, please supply some facts from scripture that would lead you to such a conclusion. Remember no one believes either of the birth stories are complete in detail, so combining the two offers help in determining what happened, history is determined by this very method all the time, so what makes it less valuable in this short story of Christ's birth.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
