This may or may not have been mentioned before, but I discovered this and thought it worth sharing.

Most of all, the fact that people were around throughout history that had an absence of belief even though they didn't know the answers.

Interesting thought.

So I guess that means it's the same now as it always was, some people are just really gullible to nonsense.
