That said, now that I've done more research and read some of your stories, I probably will get the shot this year. I think when I got the flu it must have been a rogue strain or something.

It's a curious quirk of psychology that we don't process statistics very well. If I said there was a vaccine which offered 100 percent protection from aids I'd be hailed a hero and people would form queues. If I said there was a vaccine which offered a 30 percent protection from flu, nobody would bother. And yet the latter would save many more lives than the former. I wrote a paper on that about 5 years ago. Weird how our minds work.
