Quote:Oh..the neo-con argument that the U.S. is exclusively free from the constraints of international law. Okay, I'm sure you're more educated about domestic/international law than the ACLU.[/quote]
Oh wow.. look who else agrees with the ACLU: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVUVFE-s...ata_player
1) I never claimed that the USA is free from international law. I refuted a claim that international law SPECIFICALLY prohibits water boarding (it doesn;t).
2) I am no neocon I find the US right absurd. I find the US ultra left to be just a group of ignorants spouting propaganda and obsessed with race politics. FYI my social politics would place me firmly on the liberal side on the issues like Abortion, Gun control, drug legalisation, abortion, animal rights, death penalty, Gay issues, socialised medicine My views are orthodox liberal.
3) Your claim regarding the ACLU is a well known fallacy called 'appeal to authority'. Furthermore the ACLU are certainly not an authority on legal matters -they are a pressure group.
4) I really couldn't give a shit about Obama. I think he has been an incompetent president and an utter failure at implementing anything approaching socialised medicine he has beaten even the congenital Idiot George Bush in dividing the USA and failed to acheive almost anything at all. Indeed the biggest boast his supporters make is that Bin laden was killed under his presdidency....big deal.
