Indeed. Why get offended at all?

It's like someone calling me a "jerk"; I'm confident that I'm not one, and so such an insult would roll right off of me. I suspect that those most vehemently offended, in fact have trepid reservations about their own ideals, and may even be complete non-believers struggling to ascribe their faithlessness onto others in a vain attempt to gain a faith of their own.
