They lobby the government mostly because the government sets limits they could not abrogate in any way.
If we had a true libertarian system, nothing could stop businesses from becoming the government.
Hell, they're virtually he government already. I mean, they already skirt around the law and on the rare ocassions that they are actually called on it, they never seem to get much more than a slap on the wrists. The only millionaires that ever get in trouble are the ones who screw over other millionaires (like Bernie Madoff and Ken Lay). Then they buy up all the media outlets to make sure nobody is talking about how they've screwed the system against everyone else.
