Hell, they're virtually he government already. I mean, they already skirt around the law and on the rare ocassions that they are actually called on it, they never seem to get much more than a slap on the wrists. The only millionaires that ever get in trouble are the ones who screw over other millionaires (like Bernie Madoff and Ken Lay). Then they buy up all the media outlets to make sure nobody is talking about how they've screwed the system against everyone else.

Which is why I don't understand the logic that leads to the idea that lifting regulations is going to make corporations stop doing the very things that make regulations necessary.

Exact reason they want them lifted.

The lobby machine has made it so the needs of corporations come before the needs of the people.
