Among the vast number of problems with the story, just the very act of killing almost the whole population of the world because you're not happy with how things went is obscenely wrong. I'm not even sure if anything is written about Yahweh trying to help people between Cain's killing of Abel and talking to Noah. Of course the deal with Cain is another mess too, but that's another topic.
