We invaded Iraq at the request of oil companies lobbying, we imprison a huge number of our people at the request of lobbying from private prisons, we cut taxes on corporations to insanely low levels at the request of the Koch brothers and we maintain much more military than we need because of lobbying from defense contractors. We allow mentally disturbed people easy access to high power weapons because of lobbying from the NRA. They speak out for the benefit of their group; all of them. Just because the group in question happens to be a foreign nation doesn't make them any better than domestic entities.so how did the war in the middle east benefit the us. Many people believe that 9/11 was planned. Few people believe that osama was killed. Also gas prices around the world are very high. and five oil producing nations were invaded
I didn't say the war benefited us; I said the war benefited oil companies. Big difference. And the oil companies still would have wanted to get their greedy little hands on Iraqi oil whether Ireal was part of the picture or not. Not to mention defense contractors would still have wanted us to buy more of their stuff to use in the Iraq invasion and private security firms would have wanted us to buy their services in Iraq, too. None of those factors have anything to do with Isreal, but I think they played a bigger role in the decision to invade Iraq than an Isreal lobby. I think the lobbying system is fucked up in general and the Isreal lobby isn't any better or worse than some of the rest of the lobbys out there.
