I don't kill myself because aside from being mentally ill to the point of repeatedly being hospitalized, physically I'm in excellent shape. And I know all kinds of people in wheelchairs, amputees, diabetes, obesity, cancer, clogged arteries, heart disease, macular degeneration (blindness) and other handicaps, yet they still want to go on living.
They would love to have what I have, so It would really make me feel a brat to kill myself during my prime. Also, Suicide is the most self-indulgent and selfish act after murder. It hurts a lot of people.
I think just as people have a right to life, they should have a right to end their lives, but I agree that it hurts a lot of people. That's why I've never done more than think about it. Though I have hurt myself. When I realized doing so hurt my mother as well, I stopped. Mostly. It was instantly addicting, so I had a few lapses.
