Assuming you were answering me no ... Fed Saberhagen was a Science Fiction writer back in the days. He wrote a series of short stories about human expansion into space where they met planetoid sized intelligent ships, remnants of an alien war 50,000 years past, that were deigned to cause chaos and destruction in their enemies territory. As I recall they actually contributed to their designer's demise but the stories focus on destroying and exploring these amazing, though often vicious, ships.

That's why I think Daystar "went Berserker"
