Just like the God this Paul character is written to support, we the reader are expected to ignore his violent past because he said "I am sorry I won't do that again". That is like forgiving a serial killer.
Paul wasn't just a "little screwy". His character reflects that of a psychopath just like the God of the entire book itself.
I agree, I am not a paulian. Pointing out to people that many people follow paul's notions confuses them.
But now we would have to address this "psychopath" god.
Is it "crazy" to use negative reinforcement to help humans not hurt each other? If you asked a crimanl to describe the notion of "why we have police" what would he say? What is is crazy is that we would take that criminals writings as "literal".
