No no. I'm suggesting that you have only limited ability to reason. Common sense/simple reasoning leads to atheism. The reasons you know that leprechauns aren't real are the same reasons we know Gods aren't real. Due to either brainwashing, or plain gullibility, you seem completely unable to apply reason to your particular God, but can conveniently apply it to the other few thousand Gods. Funny that...

With limited reasoning ability you can know that leprechauns etc are fairy tales. You hardly need to understand anything to work that one out.

The slightly more complex problem if a cogent model of God which is beyond your cranial capacity has to also be a fairy tale because: you don't know why.

Of course the question arises: how has mankind come across any information about any god?, specially given that it seems like it came to us at a time when human ignorance was extremely high; and at a place... well... the most common seem to have all emanated from roughly the same place.

I do think that I have the easier task, since my only burden requires that life continue as it ever has. If it doesn't, and I happen to be struck blind on my way to Damascus, my primary concern will be to ask that glowing figure "wait, wait, before you go... which deity is it you represent? And please... BE SPECIFIC."
