I see you didn't take my advice about pulling your head out of your ass, I'm so surprised.

And what wise man in today's society, or your atheist belief system, sets such moral standards?

Incoherence aside, I think I get what you meant. I can't answer for other atheists since we have no dogma, but I don't really need anyone to tell me right from wrong on most matters. When there is a complicated or unclear ethical issue I usually speak with others that I know to be trustworthy and generally what I know to be "good".

My moral system, given some thought, is in accordance with a lot of W.D. Ross' prima facie duties (ethical pluralism).

1. Fidelity- keeping one's promises and word
2. Reparation- making up for a wrong (pay attention Christian; this requires me to actually engage the person I have wronged, not my imaginary friend)
3. Gratitude- being grateful to those who have shown me kindness
4. Non-injury- Don't hurt people. Ross also includes not harming them psychologically (no insults and the like) but I don't have time to pamper to idiots.
5. Harm-Prevention- self evident, I apply this within reason.
6. Beneficence- being good to others, promoting good acts. Also a "within reason" type of deal as I don't go out of my way for assholes and people who continuously wrong me.
7. Self-Improvement- self evident.
8. Justice- self evident.
9. Self-Preservation- self evident
10. Respect of Freedom- self evident

These duties are prioritized according to what situation they are being applied to and really the list is incomplete but this is what came to mind.

Seeing that MAN is infinitely flawed, what, or more precisely, "who" is king of the jungle for you? Politics? Science? The Courts? You Father in law? Old man Charles from down the street?

It would seem to me the promise of being an atheist should lead me to a conclusion that whatever is good for me, no one else matters.
